The IMR brings together researchers and practitioners in mesh and grid
generation from scientific computing, computer-aided design,
computer graphics, and related fields to discuss advances in meshing.
Submissions are welcome in a variety of areas including mesh generation and
modification, artificial intelligence and machine learning for meshing, meshing
for scientific and high-performance computing, CAD and computational
geometry issues for meshing, and implications and applications for meshing.
Submissions from academia, industry, and national laboratories are encouraged.

community, the deadline for submitting minisymposium proposals for the
16th International Conference on Spectral and High-Order Methods
(ICOSAHOM 2027), to be held at Politecnico di Milano, Italy, from 5–9 July
2027, has been extended to 14 September 2026.

Each minisymposium consists of at least one session (four presentations).

Subject: PhD position at the University of Strathclyde, UK
Dear colleagues,
I have recently been awarded funding for a 3.5-year PhD studentship
under my supervision (joint with Dr. Aurik Andreu, from the Advanced
Forming Research Centre (AFRC), University of Strathclyde). The
studentship is fully funded, and covers fees and stipend for a UK
national (or an overseas student who is able to cover the difference
in fees).
The project is entitled "Adaptive finite element methods for induction
heating", and it deals with the numerical approximation of a system of
partial differential equations modelling temperature induced by a
magnetic field. The project will contain both a strong numerical
analysis component, as well as an industrial/ computational aspect.
To apply, please send me (gabriel.barrenechea@strath.ac.uk) an up-
to-date CV, and two reference letters. Ideally, the start date is
01/10/2026, but a later start date can also be negotiated. Informal
enquires, and requests for further details can also be sent to me.
