Subject: Upcoming deadline, nominations for Householder Prize 2025
Nominations are solicited for the Alston S. Householder Prize. The
award will be presented to the author of the best dissertation in
numerical linear algebra submitted between 1 January 2022, and 31
December 2024. The prize will be awarded during the Householder
Symposium XXII, 8-13 June 2025 at Cornell University.
The supervisor of a candidate recipient of a PhD, earned between
January 1, 2022 and December 31, 2024, must submit a copy of the PhD
dissertation and an appraisal. One or more external letters of
recommendation supporting the nomination are also
required. Nominations may be submitted online using the form available

CALL FOR PAPERS
The 37th ACM Symposium on Parallelism in Algorithms and Architectures
(SPAA ’25) will run on July 28—August 1, 2025 in Portland, Oregon.
The Program Committee is seeking publications in all areas of parallel
and distributed computing, including the broader array of areas that
are now actively using different forms of parallelism. To represent
the broad array of areas that parallelism has found applications in,

We are pleased to announce SAYAS NUMERICS DAY 2025. This is an annual
workshop displaying research in computational mathematics in Maryland,
Virginia, DC, Delaware and vicinity, in particular for graduate
students and early career researchers.
The meeting is named in honor of Francisco Javier Sayas (1968-2019)
who was dedicated to its mission of giving especially younger
mathematicians an opportunity to share their work.
Ilse Ipsen (NC State) will give the keynote talk.
There will be about 12 contributed talks (20 min. each), selected by
the scientific committee to represent diverse topics of research in
computational mathematics.
Registration is free. The deadline for submitting talks is March 28, 2025.

We are pleased to announce SNIPS 2025 – Stochastic Numerics and Inverse Problems in Sweden 2025!
Join us at Linnaeus University in Växjö from August 25 to 29, 2025, for a
workshop dedicated to exploring stochastic numerics and inverse problems.
This event will bring together researchers from diverse fields to discuss
advances in areas like numerics for stochastic differential equations, Monte
Carlo methods, stochastic optimization, filtering, and parameter estimation.
Building on the success of the One World Stochastic Numerics and Inverse
Problems (OWSNIP) online seminar series, SNIPS 2025 provides an in-person
forum to share knowledge and strengthen collaborations. The workshop offers

We invite applications of young researchers working in the fields of numerical
analysis to join our team. We are looking for a young researcher who has
achieved convincing results in this area of research and who has completed his
or her PhD degree in Mathematics within the last four years.
The successful applicant will perform research in the Department of
Constructive Methods of Mathematical Analysis, which has a long tradition of
excellent research in numerical analysis. The topics may include those already
studied in the department such as domain decomposition methods, high-
performance computing, numerical linear algebra, finite element methods, and
error estimates. However, complementary topics in numerical analysis and HPC
are also welcome. The position is not associated with a particular project and
gives the successful candidate the option to carry on research in his/her own
direction. No teaching is involved. We require verbal and written English
communication skills and abilities to work both independently and
collaboratively.
The selection committee will judge professional record of applicants, with
respect to the stage of their career. We offer affordable accommodation in the
building of the Institute for the first 3-6 months.

The successful candidate is expected to support the development of our
proposed undergraduate program in Data Science. The anticipated start date
of the position is 1 July 2025, or another mutually agreed-upon date in 2025.
The successful applicant should or will have a Ph.D. in mathematics, statistics,
or a closely related area. They should have an established record of, or
potential to develop, an independent program of research with global impact
funded by Canadian and international agencies (e.g. NSERC) leading to

supervise undergraduate research projects and graduate students.
It is expected that the candidate will develop and offer undergraduate courses
