(1) Early registration for ICMS ends on July 15.
(2) If you are attending ICM as well, then ICM will reimburse 30% of
your ICMS registration fee. Only full-paying registrations at
ICMS are eligible. E.g., You can be reimbursed KRW 96,000 if you
pay an ICMS registration of KRW 320,000. The reimbursement will
be in cash at ICM Conference site. Bring your receipts for ICM
and ICMS registrations.
(3) The Conference Program Schedule is now available on our website.
(4) Proposals for Demos/Posters (but not Tutorials) are welcome before
July 25. The Demos/Posters/Tutorials Day on August 7 is open to
the public.

Since 2005, the aim of MEMICS (http://www.memics.cz/), the Workshop on
Mathematical and Engineering Methods in Computer Science, is to
provide a scientific forum for researchers interested in applications
of mathematical and engineering methods in computer science. Selected
papers will be published by Springer in the Lecture Notes of Computer
Science.
Topics: Algorithms, logic, and games; High performance computing;
Computer-aided analysis, verification, and testing; Hardware design
and diagnostics; Computer graphics and image processing; Artificial
intelligence and natural language processing.
Researchers are invited to submit a regular paper or a presentation. A
regular paper is a previously unpublished original work, not exceeding
12 pages in the LNCS style. A presentation, submitted in the form of a
one-page abstract, summarizes recent outstanding work that has been
accepted to a leading computer science conference or published in a
recognised scientific journal.
All submissions will be handled by the Easychair conference system.

Subject: Postdoc Position, Virtual Element Method, Univ of Leicester, UK
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position of the duration
of 18 months at the Department of Mathematics of the University of
Leicester. The successful candidate will join a research project on
the development of the Virtual Element Method (VEM) led by Dr
A. Cangiani. The VEM is a novel paradigm for the numerical solution of
Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) stemming from the finite element
method. The postdoc will contribute to both the theoretical
development and the implementation of the VEM within the Distributed
and Unified Numerics Environment (DUNE).
The successful applicant will join a team of applied mathematicians
and numerical analysts working under the umbrella of the Computational
Modelling Theme of the College of Science and Engineering.
Applicants must have: (i) received, or about to complete, a PhD degree
in applied/computational mathematics or related field; (ii) expertise
in finite element analysis; (iii) experience developing modern HPC.
The postdoc position is at Grade 7 (£31644-36661 p.a.) and is
sponsored by the EPSRC and the College of Science and Engineering
of the University of Leicester.
